Homemade, Natural Deodorant

Ingredients

  • ~7 30ml cardboard push up tubes
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon candelilla wax
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa butter
  • 1/2 cup virgin coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 cup arrowroot powder (from The Source)
  • 2 tablespoon baking soda
  • 60 drops essential oils of choice (30 each cedarwood, orange oil, and lavender)
  • 6 drops tea tree essential oil

Directions

  • Make a double boiler and heat the water in the bottom section to a low boil.
  • Push the cardboard bases to the bottom of each pushup tube.
  • Melt a small amount of beeswax then pour into the bases of the cardboard pushup tubes to a depth of about 3mm.
  • Add the candelilla wax, cocoa butter, coconut oil, and olive oil to the top section of the double boiler and carefully melt over medium heat until everything is completely melted and blended.
  • Add the arrowroot powder and baking soda and mix well.
  • Remove the pot from heat, add in the essential oils, and stir together.
  • Pour the mixture into the cardboard pushup tubes and place them in the refrigerator to cool.
  • Store one deodorant at room temperature and apply as needed.
  • Store the remainder in a plastic bag in the freezer.
